Archive

Lancing College employs its own part-time archivist, Mrs Lesley Eastabrook. She is always pleased to receive donations of items which relate to College heritage.

Among the highlights of our holdings are the papers of Nathaniel Woodard, mostly relating to the promotion and maintenance of the college; architectural drawings of the College buildings, including its world-famous Chapel; meteorological diaries of the 18th century among the papers of Edmund Field; photographs from the 19th century onwards; minutes of the School Council and the Friends of Lancing Chapel; programmes of musical events and school plays.

It is often possible to discover interesting information about former masters and pupils, and not infrequently a photograph or Lancing College Magazine article can be located. Visits for research purposes can be made by appointment. The archivist is also able to assist with enquiries.

For all enquiries please email leastabrook@lancing.org.uk or call on +44 (0)1273 465945. The office is usually open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays during term time, between 8.30am and 4.30pm, though days and times are subject to variation.

A selection of digitised archives can be found on the new Digital Archives website.
