    TEACHER OF PHYSICS - Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)

    A well-qualified member of staff is required for September 2017 at one of Britain’s leading independent schools to teach Physics to A Level for up to one year. This post may particularly suit someone seeking to broaden their experience in a second post, an NQT (statutory induction provided) or a graduate entrant to the profession.     IT Technician

    Lancing College is seeking to recruit an IT Technician. This is a full time post, working hours will be Monday to Friday, 08.30 – 17.45 and Saturday Mornings 08.30 – 12.30 term time only, on a rota basis.

    Lancing College runs a Server 2012 / windows 7 network of approximately 25 Servers, 550 PCs and laptops supporting 1500+ users over three sites. We have two suites of Apple iMacs. We support Pupils own devices on a BYOD basis and all pupils and teachers are issued with an iPad. 

    IT Technician duties will include (but not exclusively), assisting with proposed IT related projects, day-to-day tasks associated with the College’s and Prep School’s computer systems. Training will be given on the College’s internal proprietary systems, knowledge and experience of working with, Apple hardware / software, supporting Windows desktop support and application support is all desirable skills. 

    The ideal candidate would be an individual, with at least two years’ experience in a technical role, who is forward thinking and can cope with the day to day issues of a busy IT department.  We are looking for someone who will take pride in their work and they will support and bolster the professional image of the IT department.  In an environment perfect for expanding IT skills we are looking for a committed, enthusiastic, motivated and focused individual to join our thriving team.  

    The post is primarily based at the main Lancing College campus but travel to the Lancing College Preparatory Schools at Hove and Worthing will be a regular feature of employment.  A driving licence and appropriate personal transport are therefore essential.

    Chef - Full Time

    Lancing College is seeking to recruit a Chef to work within the College. The position will assist the Head/Sous Chef in the provision of food to the agreed standard within the budgetary limitations and the School’s standards.  

    This is a full time position, hours of work will be 40 hours per week, for five days out of seven, for 52 weeks of the year.

    Weekend Cleaner/Porter

    Lancing College is looking to recruit a weekend cleaner/porter to work within the College as part of the Central Cleaning team.  Experience is not essential as full training will be given.

    The department covers a diverse range of support functions, including all aspects of housekeeping, cleaning and some light portering.  The cleaner will work within a team to upkeep both internal and external areas of the College, including room set ups for school purposes and external functions.

    The hours will be 06.30am – 10.30am, Saturday and Sunday, 52 weeks per year. However these times may vary slightly from time to time to suit the needs of the business.  Also the employee may be required to work on occasion to assist with special events held at the College.

    Domestic Assistant (Bank)

    Lancing College is seeking to recruit Bank Staff to work within the Boarding and Day Houses. Experience is not essential as full training will be given, we are looking for individuals with excellent organisation, communication and customer service skills, to cover staff absence and help with events on an ad hoc basis.

    The role will involve cleaning in the following areas; Boarding and Day Houses and which may include Laundry.

    The successful candidates would be self-motivated, able to forge effective working relationships with a wide range of staff and be prepared to work flexibly and at short notice.

    Hours are flexible and variable, between 8.30am and 2.30pm, some occasional weekend work may be required as well. This role is on an ad hoc basis and there are no guaranteed hours.

    Music/Organ Assistant

    Lancing College is seeking a Music/Organ Assistant to join our highly successful Music Department from September 2017. This is a full time position, working hours will be approx. 40 hours per week but some flexibility is required, free accommodation will be provided to the successful candidate.  This position is a fixed term 1 year role and would be ideal for someone who has recently completed a Further Education qualification in music.

    The precise details of this role will take into account the skills and experience of the successful candidate, but are likely to include: assisting with choral and instrumental rehearsals, including taking sectional rehearsals. Accompanying: choir, small groups and individuals for rehearsals and principally lower grade pupils for practice sessions, internal and public performances, and examinations. If the candidate is an organist, playing the organ at some services in Chapel as directed by the Director of Chapel Music in liaison with the Director of Music. Teaching aural for practical exams and theory up to Grade V and supporting academic music Evening School work (prep), including with pupils’ use of music technology.

    The ideal candidate will be a positive, self-motivated person, able to work unsupervised, with a highly organised and methodical approach to work. Ability to work under pressure, as part of a team and to maintain a good sense of humour, with excellent personal presentation skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and orally with pupils, colleagues, parents and the public.
