    Graduate Assistant (PE and Girls' Games)

    An enthusiastic graduate is required for the academic year 2017-2018 to coach girls’ games throughout the school and to teach some curriculum (non-GCSE option) PE. This role may also include some KS1 PE teaching at Lancing College Preparatory Schools.

    The total salary will be up to £17,000 to include meals during term time and accommodation.

    Chef - Full Time

    Lancing College is seeking to recruit a Chef to work within the College. The position will assist the Head/Sous Chef in the provision of food to the agreed standard within the budgetary limitations and the School’s standards.  

    This is a full time position, hours of work will be 40 hours per week, for five days out of seven, for 52 weeks of the year.

    Weekend Cleaner/Porter

    Lancing College is looking to recruit a weekend cleaner/porter to work within the College as part of the Central Cleaning team.  Experience is not essential as full training will be given.

    The department covers a diverse range of support functions, including all aspects of housekeeping, cleaning and some light portering.  The cleaner will work within a team to upkeep both internal and external areas of the College, including room set ups for school purposes and external functions.

    The hours will be 06.30am – 10.30am, Saturday and Sunday, 52 weeks per year. However these times may vary slightly from time to time to suit the needs of the business.  Also the employee may be required to work on occasion to assist with special events held at the College.

    Domestic Assistant (Bank)

    Lancing College is seeking to recruit Bank Staff to work within the Boarding and Day Houses. Experience is not essential as full training will be given, we are looking for individuals with excellent organisation, communication and customer service skills, to cover staff absence and help with events on an ad hoc basis.

    The role will involve cleaning in the following areas; Boarding and Day Houses and which may include Laundry.

    The successful candidates would be self-motivated, able to forge effective working relationships with a wide range of staff and be prepared to work flexibly and at short notice.

    Hours are flexible and variable, between 8.30am and 2.30pm, some occasional weekend work may be required as well. This role is on an ad hoc basis and there are no guaranteed hours.

    Music/Organ Assistant

    Lancing College is seeking a Music/Organ Assistant to join our highly successful Music Department from September 2017. This is a full time position, working hours will be approx. 40 hours per week but some flexibility is required, free accommodation will be provided to the successful candidate.  This position is a fixed term 1 year role and would be ideal for someone who has recently completed a Further Education qualification in music.

    The precise details of this role will take into account the skills and experience of the successful candidate, but are likely to include: assisting with choral and instrumental rehearsals, including taking sectional rehearsals. Accompanying: choir, small groups and individuals for rehearsals and principally lower grade pupils for practice sessions, internal and public performances, and examinations. If the candidate is an organist, playing the organ at some services in Chapel as directed by the Director of Chapel Music in liaison with the Director of Music. Teaching aural for practical exams and theory up to Grade V and supporting academic music Evening School work (prep), including with pupils’ use of music technology.

    The ideal candidate will be a positive, self-motivated person, able to work unsupervised, with a highly organised and methodical approach to work. Ability to work under pressure, as part of a team and to maintain a good sense of humour, with excellent personal presentation skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and orally with pupils, colleagues, parents and the public.

    General Catering Assistant - Term Time

    Lancing College is seeking to recruit a Term Time General Catering Assistant. Hours of work to mainly work during term time (33 weeks, plus an additional 8 weeks during holidays), 40 hours per week and will involve working in rotas, to include evenings and weekends.

    To assist the Catering Manager, Head Chef, Second Chef and Catering Supervisors in the responsibility for ensuring the maintenance of high standards within the catering team. Covering provision of food to agreed standards, hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.

A free lunch will be provided when on duty. Some flexibility is required as these times may vary slightly from time to time to suit the needs of the business.  Also the employee may be required to work an occasional Saturday morning to assist with special events held at the College, e.g. Founder’s Day and Open Mornings.
