Over £1000 raised for Haiti Print E-mail

A "Favourite Shirt Day", held last week, has raised £1001.91 to help those whose lives have been devastated by the earthquake in Haiti. £380 will be sent to the Disaster Emergency Committee, and £621.91 will go to CURE International. Cure International was already working with disabled children in Haiti, and is now helping to deal with the aftermath of the earthquake; you can read about their work on their blog. The Director of Cure, Professor Chris Lavy, spent 10 years working as an orthopaedic surgeon in Malawi, and spoke at Lancing in 2008 about his time there. The biennial Malawi expedition, which will take place this summer, visits Professor Lavy's hospital in Blantyre, Malawi.
