2021 marks the centenary of Evelyn Waugh leaving Lancing and 50 years since the guest speaker started teaching English at the College. Jeremy Tomlinson will consider the impact of Lancing on Waugh's life and writing and how his teachers assessed him. Jeremy became Housemaster of Head's in 1981 when little had changed since Waugh was in the House and will describe something of what his schooldays were like 60 years before. We look forward to hearing more about the relationship between Lancing and its most famous novelist on Thursday 22 April at 7.30pm, in the 2021 Evelyn Waugh Lecture entitled: 'Evelyn Waugh, A Housemaster's Report'.
This very special occasion is by invitation only and open to all members of the Lancing Foundation in recognition of their support for the College.
