{"id":72621,"date":"2026-04-23T11:18:15","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T10:18:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lancingcollege.co.uk\/littlelancing\/?post_type=vacancy&#038;p=72621"},"modified":"2026-05-22T09:58:35","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T08:58:35","slug":"nursery-assistant-level-3-part-time-or-full-time","status":"publish","type":"vacancy","link":"https:\/\/www.lancingcollege.co.uk\/littlelancing\/news\/vacancy\/nursery-assistant-level-3-part-time-or-full-time\/","title":{"rendered":"Nursery Assistant (Level 3) (part-time or full-time)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Nursery Assistant<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reports to:\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Nursery Manager \/ Deputy Nursery Manager<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Welcome Incentives<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a3750 welcome bonus upon successful completion of probation<\/li>\n<li>\u00a3250 refer a friend bonus upon successful completion of probation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To contribute to a programme of Early Years activities with the nursery and outdoors environment to support children\u2019s learning.<\/li>\n<li>To work with the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework that meet the individual needs and interests of children.<\/li>\n<li>To act as a key person to a small group of children and being the first point of contact for their families.<\/li>\n<li>To take ownership in being responsible for maintaining children\u2019s learning journals and monitoring\/reporting on their developmental milestones.<\/li>\n<li>To build strong working relationships with parents and family members, alongside management and other colleagues.<\/li>\n<li>To assist with daily, weekly and monthly checks around the nursery and assisting in ensuring the nursery is always clean and safe.<\/li>\n<li>To be committed to the safeguarding of all children in the nursery as well as those in direct care.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Person Specification<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A qualified Nursery Assistant professional (Level 3 or above) with a keen interest in developing knowledge and practice of Little Lancing\u2019s approach.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills and Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hold a Level 3 up to Level 6 Early Years qualification or equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working with children between the ages of 0-5.<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.<\/li>\n<li>Ideally have an up-to-date Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene certificate.<\/li>\n<li>Strong IT skills including use of tablets.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of relevant Health &amp; Safety legislation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Personal Characteristics <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to be flexible and adaptable.<\/li>\n<li>Passionate about creating a caring and nurturing environment for children.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the nursery team.<\/li>\n<li>Resilient and demonstrates the ability to work well under pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Positive attitude to all aspects of Nursery and Forest School life.<\/li>\n<li>Committed to continuous personal and professional development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Possess up-to-date Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene certificates or willing to attend training for this.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with or knowledge of Children\u2019s Act and OFSTED requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Live within a comfortable commuting distance from the nursery.<\/li>\n<li>Valid driving licence and access to own car due to rural location.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Terms and Conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Salary \u00a313.91 per hour.<\/li>\n<li>This role is available on a part\u2011time or full\u2011time basis, with 27\u201340 hours per week worked over 3\u20135 days. Working patterns will be agreed upon appointment, with flexibility on both sides.<\/li>\n<li>The School currently operates a Group Personal Pension subject to scheme rules which may vary from time to time. The School shall initially pay a sum equivalent to 5% of your basic Salary into the pension scheme subject to contribution by you of at least 5%. You can alternatively opt to make a contribution of 7.5% and the School will match this. Minimum contributions may vary to reflect the prevailing legislative requirements.<\/li>\n<li>The employment is subject to a probationary period of twelve months.
