A Coakes

Alistair joined Lancing in 2005 and brought with him a wealth of experience from his previous career in automotive engineering with the Ford Motor Company in Basildon. His current role at the College entails teaching and tutoring across all year groups, leading the biannual CCF trips to Bisley and promoting engineering within the Department through the Arkwright Scholarship Trust. He also organises the Department’s external learning, with regular trips to local and international businesses to see subject matter in real-world scenarios.

Alistair was educated at Epsom College before studying at Nottingham University, and achieved a distinction in his MSc in Product Innovation and Development at the University of Brighton. Following this he worked within the powertrain cooling department at Visteon Automotive Systems in a cross-platform role covering projects from Transits to Aston Martins.
