Mr Tom Atkinson

Tom graduated from Lancaster University with a Politics and International Relations degree and then gained his PGCE from the University of Bath.

Originally from Yorkshire, Tom worked at an independent school in Hertfordshire (Bishop’s Stortford College) for 12 years and was Housemaster of a day house and assistant Housemaster in a boys boarding house. Tom and his family relocated to Lancing in 2021, moving into Teme House as Housemaster – a job he enjoys immensely. He always feels the adrenaline running when the boys return from a holiday.

Tom lives and works in Teme with his wife Helen, their two children, Harry and Emily, and their dog, Woody. He has a passion for history and politics and enjoys teaching both subjects. American politics and twentieth-century history are his particular interests. Lyndon Johnson is his favourite US President! Tom enjoys cooking, gardening, and paddleboarding. During the holidays, he reads avidly and thoroughly enjoys living near the coast.
