The Houses are once again dedicating a week each to raise funds and awareness for their chosen charity during the Lent Charities Term. Over the term, students will engage in fundraising, fun, and giving back, with the intention to broaden perspectives and make a real impact.
Charities Term offers every House the chance to support a cause they care about while embracing a spirited competition to raise the most funds. Students take full ownership of planning, promoting, and running their events, making this a fantastic opportunity for personal growth and leadership.
We are only halfway through, and we have already seen a tremendous effort from all involved. Pupils put their enthusiasm and creativity at the forefront of their efforts, arranging bake sales, sleep-outs, film screenings, musical performances, sponsored runs and more. For Valentine’s, pupils could order gifts to be delivered to Houses, and we all dressed in red or pink for a small donation to celebrate the Day.
A Sankey's House initiative was a sponsored run and pupil volunteers ran an impressive 500km between them, in 1km loops across the College grounds, in freezing conditions!
These various fundraisers brought the entire Lancing community together, fostering a spirit of generosity and teamwork.
The funds raised will go towards a variety of worthy causes, each making a significant impact on the lives of those in need. More to come next term!
