Following the recent appointment of new Director of Music Alexander Mason, the College will be offering up to eight Music Scholarships and up to four Chorister Scholarships for Third Form/Year 9 entry in 2020 and 2021.
All our Musicians benefit from a broad programme of weekly instrumental, singing, composition and theory lessons. They also perform at many external events. Lancing Chapel is the home of the well-known Choir and organs by Frobenius, Walker and Elliot.
This variety on offer, in addition to the many opportunities to perform at lunchtime and termly concerts, recitals and workshops, ensures that all pupils are given the right tools to experiment and grow, as well as the support they need to become all-round musicians.
Scholarships are awarded every year to candidates on the basis of excellence demonstrated through the assessment process. Pre-auditions are advised and will take place during the Advent Term prior to the Scholarship auditions.
Awards bring with them fee remissions of between 5 and 10 per cent; winners of these awards may also apply for additional financial help in the form of bursaries, which may be awarded based on an assessment of financial need.
