A Formula for Fun: Prep School Students Enjoy Science Day at Lancing College

We were delighted to welcome pupils from local prep schools for a Science Day designed to ignite curiosity and inspire young minds.

Pupils spent the morning immersed in hands-on experiments across Chemistry, Physics and Biology, led by Lancing’s expert and enthusiastic Science faculty. From chemical reactions to microscopy and physics challenges, each activity was designed to engage, stretch and excite, offering a real taste of life in our laboratories.

Our visitors had the opportunity to explore the College’s state-of-the-art science facilities, moving between labs and gaining insight into the breadth and depth of our academic offering. There was also time to refuel with a hearty lunch in the Dining Hall, giving everyone the chance to relax and enjoy the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the College.

The afternoon ended on a literal high with a spectacular flying display from Huxley’s Birds of Prey on the Upper Quad. With hawks, falcons and owls soaring above the iconic backdrop of the Chapel, it was a breathtaking finale to a day filled with exploration and discovery!

We look forward to seeing some of these budding scientists again soon, perhaps as part of our Lancing community in the near future.
