The Business Network for Banking and Investment Management was a sell-out on Wednesday 5 February.
The panel, Kate Maitland (Handford 1994-1996), Patrick Lance (Head's 1991-1996), Matt Ruoss (Sanderson’s 1983-1988), Nick Triggs (Olds 1972-1976) and Graham Heddle (Sanderson’s 1981-1985), provided a candid, engaging and humorous perspective of their roles and journeys into their careers.
A big thank you to Patrick Lance for hosting a great evening at the Brewin Dolphin offices in St James's. It was a real opportunity for Lancing Sixth Formers to hear about the breadth of options available within the industry and to learn about the particular qualities that employers look for in the recruitment process.
Jonty S (Upper Sixth) said: 'I was fortunate enough to be part of the group invited to the OL Banking and Investment Networking event at Brewin Dolphin in London. We had the opportunity to listen to a panel of finance directors and senior managers and ask questions regarding specific qualifications such as the CFA/CFP and how the industry operates. I am particularly interested in private equity and found talking to an individual within the industry to be of great assistance in understanding how to best place myself to work in that sector given the high level of competition. I look forward to the next event'.
