Pupils enjoy last DofE expedition of term

In the last week of term, 22 intrepid Third Formers set out on their Bronze D of E Expedition on the South Downs. They were journeying from Arundel to school (or vice versa) over two days, with a camp overnight in Washington. Specific routes were planned by the expedition groups themselves and they had to prove that they could be totally self-sufficient, cooking their own meals and carrying all their equipment with them. The South Downs are demanding, but the weather was kind, and the groups did brilliantly to keep going with great team spirit and drive.

Pupils George, Freddie, Ewan, Phillip, Max and Reece commented:
'This was an expedition with a lot of highs and a lot of lows – literally, with all the hill climbing! On the trip, we experienced good team building opportunities like pitching tens, cooking and walking together. When we were in tricky situations, we all worked together to find a solution and we stuck together even if we were lost. Food highlights include Ewan’s pasta, ramen, and salami sandwiches!'
