It has been an action packed-first week back with the Netball and Boys' Hockey Clubs commencing their respective competitive seasons. On Thursday, the 1st XI Hockey team took on Seaford in the National Cup. Despite the 3-0 loss, the game had many positives including six debutants at Senior level. MVP was Elian C.
A busy weekend lies ahead, with the girls taking on Ardingly College in 10 netball matches and the Hockey Club having a day of training and one Senior match against KES Witley.
For the rest of this week's report, we take a brief look back to the House events that took place on the last Thursday of the Advent Term.
In Girls' Hockey, the Senior House event was as hard fought as ever. Ultimately the title came down to the final game between Manor and Sankey's, with Sankey's coming out on top.
On the same afternoon, both the Junior and Senior House Football tournaments took place. Over 100 students participated – and many more supported from the sidelines – in what was an excellent display of House spirit.
In the Junior event, Head's House finished top of the pile, just pipping Second's to first place.
In the Senior event, Second's again ran close, but were topped by School House, continuing what has been a fine record of success in this competition in recent years.
