Sporting Highlights - 13 November 2020

Last Saturday proved what an amazing sporting community we have here at Lancing with over 250 students taking part in the various sporting activities. We also appreciate the huge numbers of supporters that come out each week to cheer on their friends.

So last week…

Hockey
In hockey, a total of 35 Senior girls were involved. The Upper Sixth played first in a combination of competitive games and fun shootouts, which was then followed by an 11-a-side match for the Lower Sixth.

Mr Carter reports that the level of hockey on show was superb, which emphasises the level of commitment and development of the girls throughout this season.

Tennis
The Junior Manor Tennis Cup – a mixed doubles competition with partnerships competing in a round robin format – also took place. In this competition, the winners and runners-up in each pool progress through to the quarters, semis and finally the final.

Overall winners were Jayden H and Rosalind D, and runners-up were Ralph H and Melisenta K.

It would not be Manor Cup without the fancy dress prize which was awarded to Hannah C and Theo A, dressed as ketchup and mustard.

The best pair for attitude and perseverance was awarded to Henry G and Harriet H.

On Saturday 14 November we have over 20 pairs taking part in the Senior Cup Competition. Good luck to all who are taking part.
