Cross-Country
In recent weeks we have had lots of success for our cross-country runners and our school teams. In the first round of the Goodwood Sussex Cross Country Relay Championships two Saturdays ago, Bibi W’s team. which consisted of three girls from the U15s, came second.
Fin S ran too for Worthing and his team came second at U17 level.
Last week, our girls' and boys' cross-country teams travelled to Charterhouse for the first big meet of the term. Our boys team achieved a respectable 3rd place, and credit to our girls for being the only female team on the day, running against the Senior boys. Individual results from the strong field of 60 runners included Max W who came 7th, Theo S-F in 9th, Fin S in 14th, and Third Former Bibi W who came 28th and was the first girl finisher.
Football
On Saturday, Lancing embarked on their first ever 13-team fixture block against Winchester, which included seven away matches for the Seniors and six home matches for the Juniors.
It was a dramatic afternoon with wins, draws, losses, penalties, and late comebacks for both schools. Some exceptional talent was displayed, alongsode some much-needed room for improvement.
Our standout performances came from the Seniors, with wins for the 1st XI, who gave their best performance of the season to date, winning 4-1 with two goals each for Seb F and Tom H; the 2nd XI ran out comfortable 2-0 victors after goals from Oscar E and Tolu A; and the 5th XI, with Mr Sunderland maintaining his usual unbeaten record with a late comeback in the final minutes, coming from 2-0 down to win 3-2. There was a resolute performance from the 3rd XI, who scored a penalty late on to snatch a 2-2 draw, and the U15A team had the reverse fortune, conceding late on to draw 3-3.

Hockey
A 2nd XI victory for the Hockey Club last Saturday as they put away 4 convincing goals against Hurstpierpoint. Most Valuable Players with Bethany K, Ella T and Sienna R.
The goals came from Bethany K, Sienna R, Bella B and Ottoline G, with MVPs Bethany K, Ella T & S.
Tuesday’s U14B match against King Edward's Whitley saw a turn of fortune for the Lancing girls, losing a very close-fought game 2-0. MVPs were Flo D and Stella C.

Basketball
The Lancing Senior basketball team managed to keep their unbeaten run alive with a very close game against Michael Hall. Lancing kept their composure and held their nerve in the last minutes of the game, finishing the match with a 42-41 victory. MVP of the week was awarded to top scorer, Jakob L.
Netball – Nationals
Our U19s, U16s and U14s all travelled away to Brighton Falmer to compete in the first round of the National Schools Tournament last Saturday. Highlights included wins over Cardinal Newman, very close matches with Brighton College and narrow losses to our rivals Seaford, Ardingly and Eastbourne. A tough day but some brilliant performances and fantastic efforts by all in the team, taking it game by game and improving exceedingly well throughout the day.
Badminton
The badminton team travelled to Eastbourne College for their first competitive match of the season last Saturday. A fantastic performance from all the players with lots of close matches, Lancing College was the overall winner at 15-10. A special mention to Keira Y and Laurin S for representing Lancing in their first fixture and winning 3 out of the 5 matches.
