Hockey Round-Up
The 1st XI have started their season in outstanding form, securing a 6–0 pre-season win over South Downs, followed by a 5–0 victory against Claremont, and a 6–0 result over Christ’s Hospital this past weekend. Seventeen goals scored and none conceded sets a high standard early on. Players of the match: Emily M and Chloe S.
The 2nd XI maintained their unbeaten streak with an excellent comeback against Christ’s Hospital, turning around a 2–0 deficit to win 3–2. They followed this up on Tuesday with a 4–0 win over Lingfield. Goals from Sienna R and Ava U.
Players of the match: Ava U, Ottoline G, Lila D, and Lily T.
The 3rd XI put in a strong showing in a competitive game against Christ’s Hospital, narrowly losing 3–1. Players of the match: Sara K and Charlotte E
The U15A side earned a hard-fought 1–0 win, with the decisive goal scored by Olivia M, and Molly C named MVP.
U15B – Better Than the Scoreline Suggests!
The U15B were beaten 5–1 by Christ’s Hospital, but the match was far closer than the result suggests, with plenty of encouraging signs in their performance.
MVPs were Tamara G R & Beatrice dC-W with a special mention to Lara H, who played in goal for the first time.
The U14A team secured an impressive 5–1 victory, with goals from Connie D F, Anoushka M, Molly G, and two from Greta McA. Players of the match: Anoushka M and Molly G.
Finally, the U14B played out a well-contested 0–0 draw, showing discipline and teamwork throughout. MVPs: Liza D and Gloria R C.
Boys’ Football
The first block of Advent Term fixtures saw Lancing take on Lingfield across multiple age groups. Both the 1st and 2nd XI matches ended in hard-fought draws, with late goals securing 1–1 and 2–2 results respectively.
The U15Bs also came from behind to draw 3–3, while the U15As earned Team of the Week honours with a commanding 6–2 victory. The U16As also impressed with a 4–0 win.
On Wednesday, the 1st XI progressed in the ISFA National Cup with a 2–0 win in the opening round, highlighted by an exceptional 30-yard strike from Marley R, and another clean sheet.

Congratulations to Bethan E who, on 6 September, took part in the Littlehampton longshore inshore race. Bethan sailed from Littlehampton Arun Yacht Club back to Sussex Yacht Club, which took just over four hours. She finished third over the line and fourth after calculation of handicaps. She crewed for the SB20 Huffler.
