Sporting Highlights - 6 March 2020

Fencing
We start by congratulating Sam W who achieved second place in the County Junior Épée competition in the Regional Fencing Competition last Saturday. He fought really well and after the first round was placed in the top half; however his next fight was against the number 2 seed and he lost 15-5. Overall this result puts Sam in and around the top 20 Épéeists in the country for his age group.

Boys' Hockey
We also heard this week that Harry S has been selected for the Sussex Under 14 Boys Championship Squad for Hockey and – clearly recognising his leadership qualities – they have made him captain. Well done Harry.

Rugby
We sent two Rugby 7s teams to Brighton Rugby Club last week to play against Brighton College, Bede's and Cardinal Newman. Both teams played very well scoring a total of 50 points throughout the afternoon. Then on Saturday the boys were fortunate enough to travel to Twickenham to watch Harlequins v Exeter in a thriller of a match, with Harlequins scoring a last gasp penalty try to win.

With the Easter break only three weeks away, we're very much looking forward to the Inter-House programme across a range of sports, starting with Senior House Football next Thursday.
