Hockey Club News

The 1st XI hockey team has had a busy start to the season with matches against Hurst and Christ's Hospital and the opening round of the England Hockey National Championships.
The two very close games against Hurst and CH both resulted in a narrow1-0 loss. We were highly competitive and unlucky to be on the wrong side of the result.

The girls put in an outstanding effort in the England Hockey National Championships vs Reigate. Playing some excellent hockey, the girls gave it everything in some really tough conditions.
Reigate were victorious, but a performance Lancing can be proud of.

Our 2nd XI and 3rd XI travelled away to Christ's Hospital for their season opener. Both games were very competitive with CH edging both fixtures by 2-0. Plenty of positives to take moving forward.
MVPs were Ella T, Anna I, Bella B and Lara N.

The U15As had a great start to the season against Christ's Hospital. With multiple opportunities at goal against a strong Christ's Hospital defence, Lancing led by 1-0 at half time. Taking it up a notch in the second half led to a flurry of goals scored by Ava U, Polly E, Emily S and Sophia B, resulting in a 6-0 win. A top performance from all. MVPs go to Sophia W for her outstanding defence, and Amelia G for her hard work in the middle of the pitch.

Another highly competitive game got our U15Bs up and running. A 0-0 draw that could have gone either way, with the Lancing girls unlucky not to get a winner late on. MVPs were Daisy D-P and Hattie S.

A really positive set of results for our U14s: the A team amassed an incredible 8-0 win, with MVP awarded to Coco M.
The U14Bs achieved a 3-0 win, with MVPs going to Karis O-N and Emilia Mi.
The U14C team scored a 2-0 win, with MVPs Bella B and Honor C.
The U14D team got a 3-0 wim, with MVP awarded to Imari D.
The U14E lost, with MVP Janani R and finally the U14F team drew 2-2, with MVPs Abigail M and Amelie M.

Football Club News
We had an excellent start to the football season last weekend, with 10 fixtures including seven against St Dunstan’s College, as well as internal games for our 4th,5th,6th, newly formed 7th XI and C teams.

It was a clean sweep for the Senior teams with resounding 4-0, 7-0 and 14-1 victories securing a confidence boosting start. Tougher games for the Junior teams finished with narrow losses for both the U14A and U15A teams, but there was a superb 7-1 win for the U14B team and their new manager Mr Dolan.

Notable hat-tricks for Will P, Jakob L, Ethan F and 7 goals (yes ... 7!) from George Harris cemented their places in the Team of the Week, alongside Charlie F, Tudor P, Tom H, Lucas V D, Angus McC, Patrick G C and Joe C.

In other news ...
Emily S (Fourth Form, Sankey’s) played for the U15 Valkyries Team on Sunday, in the final of the girls' U15s Cricket Festival.
She was part of the winning team who, in a tightly fought match, beat a very good Hailsham side. Well done!
