Football
On Saturday, Lancing’s Senior football teams faced KES Witley in the Lent Term openers. The 1st XI won 4-1 with goals from Theo S-F, Alex B, Seb G, and Gethin W. The 2nd XI edged out a 3-2 victory, with David O scoring the winner, alongside goals from Beau F and Connor H. The 3rd XI lost 2-0, but the 4th XI triumphed 6-0, with goals from Alp B, Angus M, Charlie S, Fin W, and two from Henry R.
Also, on Tuesday this week our U14A team extended their unbeaten run to five matches, beating Buckswood 4-1 to progress through to the last 16 of the ESFA Schools Cup. An excellent performance with goals from Sotaro N, Ollie R, Daniel F and Robin R gave the team victory, Man of the Match was Ben B with a standout performance in defence. The U14s now have a home match in the last 16 of the competition against Ibstock Place, details to follow.
Hockey
Last Thursday, the girl’s 1st XI held Hurst to an exciting 2-2 draw, with MVPs Chloe S, Harriett B, and Anna B.
On Tuesday, the U16A team faced Cranleigh in the National Cup first round, narrowly losing 4-3. Despite the loss, it was an outstanding team performance, and they are now excited for the plate competition. MVPs were Bryn H and Shimon M.
Netball
Last Saturday, the Seniors travelled away whilst the Juniors remained at home in an exciting full block of fixtures against Worth, with a total of seven wins, one draw and a closely fought loss.
- The 1st team won 32-26, with MVPs Darcy H and Emily M.
- The 2nd team secured a 28-17 victory, with MVPs Grace S and Romily T-J.
- The 3rd team triumphed 34-14, with MVPs Jaz B and Anika M.
- The U16A team dominated with a 46-14 win, MVPs Amelia G and Sophia W.
- The U15A team narrowly lost by 6 goals, with MVPs Kaylee B and Lily S.
- The U15B team won 17-14, with MVPs Flo D and Flo C.
- The mixed U15/14C team impressed with a 12-3 win, MVPs Abigail M and Paris U.
- The U14A team edged out a 19-16 victory, with MVP Maia B.
- The U14B team drew 12-12, with MVPs Maeve H and Mercy M.
A hugely successful first block of the netball season.
