An excellent weekend of football saw Lancing come away with seven wins, two draws and just two losses in a successful weekend of competitive football against Tonbridge and Kent College.
The Juniors were unbeaten with three wins and one draw. Mr Mussell’s U14A team the most successful winning 10-1 and extending their winning run to four matches. Mr Grant’s U15B team made it three wins in a row, winning 6-0; they have found some excellent form in recent weeks scoring 17 goals in their last three matches without conceding.
For the Seniors there was a competitive block with Tonbridge School. The 5th XI rallied back from 3-2 down with just three minutes to play to win 4-3, a sensational goal from Henry R tied the scoring, before hero John I’s injury time winner sent the crowd into celebration. The 2nd XI were comfortable 3-0 victors giving a dominant performance, and a late goal from Pranav A gave the 1st XI a well-deserved 3-2 win.

Tennis news
In Tennis, after beating Seaford College last week in the first round of the Year 11-13 LTA League, the U18 boys continued their impressive team performance beating Sackville School without dropping a set, 12-0 across both singles and doubles. They faced Rikkyo School in their final round, who had also won all of their matches in the previous fixture. With that said, four straight back to back wins in the singles by Alex K, Christian W, Logan B and George H was enough to set the standard and seal the overall win, even before the doubles were played. Great resilience shown by all and some top tennis played when it really counted. The boys now finish top of their group and progress through to knockouts in January. The girls have their final group stage match vs Cardinal Newman on Tuesday at home, and wish them the best of luck.
