Sports Report - Friday 22 January

The PE Department is endeavouring to keep the community active, with staff currently teaching live lessons to the Third and Fourth Forms during their curriculum PE lessons.

There is a variety of activities on offer, from TED talks, HIIT sessions, family workouts and a combat-style bootcamp. In addition to these sessions, we are also running activities for our tennis, athletics, hockey and netball players.

Both the Junior and Senior hockey and netball players are following specific fitness programmes. Using Strava, the hockey boys are posting their running achievements as well as performing bodyweight exercises regularly that comprise similar functional movements to hockey. The netballers are following a similar plan, and are completing HIIT workouts from the England Netball website.

In tennis, Miss Airey reports that it is great to see students as well as staff getting involved in the pre-season Tennis Strava Challenge. New challenges will be set every Tuesday, giving students a week to complete and log their results. Despite not being able to physically train together, it is really positive to see the amount of support students are still providing one another online.
