We are pleased to confirm that the College successfully passed a routine Regulatory Compliance Inspection undertaken by the Independent Schools Inspectorate in June. The outcome of Regulatory Compliance inspections are only recorded as a pass or fail: the College was found compliant in all areas. The full report can be read here.
The report confirms that 'The school meets the standards in the schedule to the Education (Independent Schools Standards) Regulations 2014, the National Minimum Standards for Boarding 2015 and the associated requirements, and no further action is required as a result of this inspection.'
During the inspection the inspectors observed lessons, conducted formal interviews and discussions with pupils and examined samples of pupils’ work. They held discussions with members of teaching and support staff and with governors, observed a sample of co-curricular activities and attended House meetings and Chapel. Inspectors visited Boarding and Day Houses and the Learning Support Department, as well as attending school lunches and touring the site. The responses of parents, staff and pupils to pre-inspection questionnaires were analysed, and the inspectors examined curriculum and other documentation made available by the school.
Compliance inspections cover the following key areas:
- Quality of education provided
- Spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils
- Welfare, health and safety of pupils
- Suitability of staff, supply staff, and proprietors
- Premises of and accommodation at schools
- Provision of information
- Manner in which complaints are handled
- Quality of leadership and management in schools
The College would like to thank parents for their support in the prompt completing of the ISI questionnaire which is such an important part of the inspection.
