Welcoming new Foundationers in our community

This term we are really delighted to have 14 pupils in our Lancing Foundationers community, the largest number we have ever had. Our campaign 'Bursaries that change lives' now has pupils across all year groups in the College and four undergraduates at Leeds, Cambridge and Imperial, making at total of 19 in the programme.

As we approach the third anniversary of the campaign we have raised over £2.8m of the £3m target, two years ahead of our original target, and intend to recruit five or six more pupils to start in 2021. Inspired by our young Foundationers and the support of donors, we have a firm commitment to reach out for phase two and the next £3m. In the next few weeks we are going to be talking more about the incredible success stories in our first three years and how we still need your help to continue our ‘Changing Lives’ programme at Lancing. We are very pleased to be working in collaboration with our partners Royal Springboard, Eastside Young Leaders' Academy and Trinity School Lewisham on this project. There has never been a more critical time for a collective effort focused on our young people and their education.

The College has joined other schools throughout the UK for a ‘Week of Giving’ in November, and we are coming together in these uncertain times for good reason. We all have the shared goal of widening access in our schools so that even more young people from challenging social and economic backgrounds can have the educational opportunities they deserve. We hope that the Lancing community will want to get involved in whatever way they can with this new initiative.
