Year 6 attended a Surf and Lifesaving skills day, organised by the Brighton Surf Lifesaving Club where pupils learnt some basic first aid and resuscitation skills before heading off to play some beach games.
They spent the afternoon venturing into some formidable waves where they experienced first-hand the effects of the current and the tide. It was a very enjoyable day which was extremely useful in developing an understanding of beach safety.
Their second foray was a little further afield to the iFly Indoor Skydiving Centre in Basingstoke. Following some fascinating work learning about the science of flight, each pupil took their turn in the simulator which authentically recreated a solo skydive. It was a hugely interesting day which everyone enjoyed immensely.
