We understand that every child is unique and they develop and learn in different ways. We develop positive relationships with each pupil and our staff work with each child individually, and in groups, to bring out the very best in every pupil.
The overall quality and standards of the early years provision are outstanding. Children make excellent progress relative to their starting points… Children make substantial progress towards the Early Learning Goals in all the areas of learning, usually reaching and often exceeding them by the end of Reception.

About the Curriculum
The Pre-School curriculum is based around the seven areas of learning of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS): Communication and Language; Physical Development; Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Literacy; Mathematics; Understanding the World; Expressive Arts and Design.
In each area there are Early Learning Goals that define the expectations for most children to reach by the end of the Foundation Stage.
Pre-School pupils are introduced to phonics, reading and topic-based learning when they are ready, with the children receiving a fun, exciting play-based curriculum. They thrive during their time with us and consistently exceed their Early Learning Goals.
Children are encouraged to participate in both adult-led and child-initiated activities.
Art and Music form part of the Expressive Arts and Design strand in the Early Years Foundation Stage. Pupils develop their creativity and imagination by exploring the visual, tactile and sensory qualities of materials and processes.
All Pre-School children have music lessons with our Head of Music. They use percussion instruments, learn songs and clap rhythms, they prepare songs for performance at the Harvest Festival, the Christmas Production and assemblies to which parents are invited. They also learn many songs within the classroom.
