Which A Levels did you study?

I studied English (AS Level), Economics, Geography, and Art & Design.

If you went to university, where did you go and what did you study? If you didn’t go to University, what did you do instead?

I went to Exeter University and I studied Physical Geography (BSc) and absolutely loved it.

What are you doing now and what plans do you have for the future?

I am currently working in Marketing Consultancy based in London. At the moment I am working for Nestlé and I provide them with insights around their shoppers; who their shoppers are and why they are purchasing their brands. I am unsure as to what I will be doing in the future but I will probably stay within the marketing industry.

What influence has Lancing had on your life?

Lancing was absolutely invaluable to me in building my confidence. In the Sixth Form I had the opportunity to do lots of public speaking from prayers in the Chapel, to speeches at events. Learning how to have confidence when public speaking has helped me hugely in my career, for example at the assessment centre I took part in for my current job, as well as day to day when presenting to my clients.

Which hobbies or interests did you pick up during your time at Lancing?

I played tennis, netball and hockey. I also took part in the Young Enterprise Scheme, which really taught me a lot about business.

Are you still in touch with people you met at Lancing?

Yes, many of my greatest friends are ones I made at Lancing.

Which OL activities have you taken part in since you left?

I love going to the annual OL Carol service in London, it’s always such a festive occasion and it’s always lovely to catch up with familiar faces.

What advice would you give to a new pupil who is about to start at Lancing?

I would advise someone new to Lancing to absolutely throw themselves into everything. You will be offered so many invaluable opportunities and learn skills that you will use for the rest of your life. Enjoy the experience – it’s such a luxury to live in such an amazing place with so many activities available to try on your doorstep!
