Lancing Swimming Club gains affiliation to Swim England

We are delighted to announce that the new Lancing College Swimming Club is now formally associated with South East Region and Sussex County as an affiliated swimming club with Swim England. All members and coaches have been training hard and now look ahead to competing as Lancing College Swimming Club at local and national level.

The affiliation to Swim England is an exceptional step forward for the growth of the Club, allowing a more structured competitive pathway and also providing additional opportunities for all members. The College is also able to offer swimming lessons and stroke development leading into the new Club squad system, allowing progression from Learn to Swim to Junior Development and Elite Competitive.

Swimming has always been a much-loved activity at the College, where pupils have consistently achieved success at the National Bath Cup, Sussex Cup and other school competitions in the South. The College Swimming Pool, a 25 metre, four-lane facility has also in the past been a home training pool for many Olympic athletes representing Great Britain. In addition to being available for Lancing pupils (both senior and prep), the Pool is also open to local schools and to various community swimming groups.

It has been a spectacular start of the year for the College teams at various galas and County competitions, with all swimmers focused and working hard towards their goals and personal best results, and with some ranked very highly in their age groups in the UK.

With the added bonus of the Club’s affiliation to Swim England, we hope that the sport will continue to be a successful and positive influence in our pupils’ lives while here at the College, and for many more years to come.
