equipment or support, you will be able to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Enter the water safely.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Move forward for a distance of 5 metres, feet may be on or off the floor.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Move backwards for a distance of 5 metres, feet may be on or off the floor.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Move sideways for a distance of 5 metres, feet may be on or off the floor.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Scoop the water and wash the face.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Be comfortable with water showered from with arms extended and log roll onto the front.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Travel 5 metres on the front, perform a tuck to rotate onto the back and return on the back.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Fully submerge to pick up an object.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Correctly identify three of the four key water safety messages.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Push and glide and travel 10 metres on the back.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Push and glide and travel 10 metres on the front.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Perform a tuck float and hold for three seconds.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Exit the water without using steps.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><span optional).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Kick 10 metres butterfly on the front or on the back.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Kick 10 metres breaststroke on the front (one item of equipment optional).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Perform a head first sculling action for 5 metres in a flat position on the back.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Travel on back and log roll in one continuous movement onto front.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Travel on front and log roll in one continuous movement onto back.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Push and glide and swim 10 metres, choice of stroke is optional.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><span lang=\"EN\">Stage 5<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span lang=\"EN\">By completing this Award you will be able to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Perform a flat stationary scull on the back.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Perform a feet first sculling action for 5 metres in a flat position on the back.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Perform a sculling sequence with a partner for 30-45 seconds to include a rotation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Tread water for 30 seconds.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Perform three different shaped jumps into deep water.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Push and glide and swim 10 metres backstroke (performed to Swim England expected standards).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Push and glide and swim 10 metres front crawl (performed to Swim England expected standards).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Push and glide and swim 10 metres breaststroke (performed to Swim England expected standards).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Push and glide and swim 10 metres butterfly (performed to Swim England expected standards).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Perform a handstand and hold for a minimum of three seconds.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Perform a forward 25 metres front crawl (performed to Swim England expected standards).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Push and glide and swim 25 metres breaststroke (performed to Swim England expected standards).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Push and glide and swim 25 metres butterfly (performed to Swim England expected standards).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Perform a movement sequence (linking skills with strokes and sculls) of one minute duration, in a group of three or more, incorporating a number of the following skills:<br \/>\n<em>Sculling<\/em>: head first, feet first<br \/>\n<em>Rotation<\/em>: forward or backward somersault, log roll<br \/>\n<em>Floating<\/em>: star on the front or on the back, tuck float, create own<br \/>\n<em>Eggbeater<\/em>: Moving, lifting one or both arms out of the water<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Perform a sitting dive or dive.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Push and glide and swim 50 metres continuously using one stroke (performed to Swim England expected standards).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Push and glide and swim 100 metres, using a minimum of three different strokes (performed to Swim England expected standards).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Tread water using eggbeater action for 30 seconds.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Complete an obstacle course (using minimum of four objects) with feet off the pool floor throughout.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Stroke Development 1<\/h4>\n<p>By completing this Award you will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Swim 50 metre front crawl from a dive \u2013 this must include stroke specific transition<\/li>\n<li>Swim 50 metre backstroke from a dive \u2013 this must include stroke specific transition<\/li>\n<li>Swim 50 metre breaststroke from a dive \u2013 this must include stroke specific transition<\/li>\n<li>Swim 25 metre butterfly from a dive \u2013 this must include stroke specific transition<\/li>\n<li>Be able to demonstrate stroke specific drills with the aid of snorkels and fins<\/li>\n<li>Be able to understand swimming terminology used during club training sessions.<\/li>\n<li>Following basic training sessions as instructed by the coach and using the timing clock to do so.<\/li>\n<li>Complete a 500 metre training session<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Stroke Development 2<\/h4>\n<p>By completing this Award you will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Swim 100 metre front crawl from a dive \u2013 this must include stroke specific transition<\/li>\n<li>Swim 100 metre backstroke from a dive \u2013 this must include specific transition<\/li>\n<li>Swim 100 metre medley from a dive \u2013 this must include stroke specific transition<\/li>\n<li>Being able to demonstrate and understand swimming terminology used during club training<\/li>\n<li>Be confident at following coaching instructions during an 800 metre training set<\/li>\n<li>Be confident in using the timing clock during coaching
