Welcome to the OL Club section of the Lancing College Website. Founded in 1878, the Club has 8,000 members, OLs who live & work all over the world & in every career, discipline, trade or vocation imaginable. However, whatever our different paths in life, we were all shaped by Lancing in all its magnificence, having spent our formative years there, &, through the Club, we remain part of the Lancing community for life.
In essence the Club has two roles. Firstly to benefit former Lancing College pupils, keep them in touch with one another, & support them when needed throughout their lives. Secondly to act as the conduit through which the OL community can support the Lancing family of schools. As beneficiaries of a Lancing education ourselves, all recent surveys suggest the OL community recognise the substantial challenges faced by the College in continuing to provide such an education today & want the Club to facilitate their support for their old school in any way it can.
Finally the OL club is approaching our 150th birthday in 2028. Following an excellent inaugural OL sports day in June, we have a great template to work with to mark our birthday but need to broaden it out to really celebrate all the other activities (music, the arts, drama etc) for which the College is renowned. Any ideas about this celebration would be gratefully received & in the meantime, enjoy the pages that follow.

Lancing prepared me for the independence of university in a way not many of the other ‘freshers’ were prepared for. The College also taught me to be true to myself and my interests, rather than being encouraged to fit a desired mold.
