Little Lancing Day Nursery & Forest School opened its doors in September 2019 and offers day care for children aged 2 months to 5 years, Monday to Friday, 51 weeks a year.
At Little Lancing we aim to provide every child in our care with exceptional early years education and care. We are a graduate-led nursery and are very proud of our qualified and experienced nursery staff team. Our Nursery Manager, Rachel Martini holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Learning and Development (University of Brighton). Find out more about our friendly team on our staff page.
In our community we celebrate together, we eat freshly prepared 'home-cooked’ meals together, we play together and we learn together. Every child is valued as a member of our family and encouraged to reach their potential through play and exploration, plenty of fresh air and a balance of child-initiated play and adult-led teachable moments.
We have three rooms: Explorers for our youngest children 2 months to 2 years, Investigators for 2 to 3 years and Pre-School for 3+ years. There is more information about our rooms and our Admissions process on our Admissions page
We are currently unable to welcome parents for personal visits to the nursery. We intend to reinstate personal visits as soon as the government regulations permit these. In the meantime, we have made our own Virtual Tour - filmed on a mobile phone at a weekend and edited in house - which we hope will give parents considering childcare options an opportunity to see online the nursery space and to hear from our Manager, Rachel Martini, about what Little Lancing has to offer. The film is below:
In the film, you will hear that in normal times, each and every child who attends Little Lancing has access to the beautiful grounds of the Lancing College estate including the woodland walks, the equestrian centre, College farm and the Chapel. We have not been taking the children to visit the College during the current pandemic but our children are fortunate to have the extensive play area adjoining the nursery building and are spending as much time outdoors as possible. We have now reintroduced our woodland walks with appropriate social distancing in place.
Families are welcome to register their initial interest by completing our Online Enquiry Form
There is more information about how the nursery is currently operating for enquirers and current parents on our Covid-19 page. This will be updated regularly in line with any changes in government and PHE guidance for early years settings.
The number of children on roll has been increasing regularly since we fully re-opened. As more children join us, we may recruit more nursery staff in due course. Please visit our vacancies page to find out more
