Boarding at Lancing

Could your child be ready for boarding?

The opportunities offered by boarding are numerous. Some families understand boarding, for others location or circumstances make this an obvious choice.

Other families can be more unsure, especially when this decision is being made when their child is in Year 5 or Year 6. We have found that children usually start to gain in confidence in Year 7 and 8 (11 and 12 years old), often when the first school trips away take place and they are away from parents for the first time. This is why boarding starts at Lancing in Year 9 (13 years old).

Parents want to encourage their children to gain independence, self-confidence and to benefit from wider social interaction and boarding is a wonderful way to enable this. At Lancing, parents are reassured that their child is receiving the very best of pastoral care whilst living in a very secure environment with plenty of open space and fresh air.
