Lancing College

Covid-19 Update

Lancing is continuing to take steps to minimise the risk of COVID-19 for our pupils, their families, our staff and those in the local community.

We are closely monitoring and following advice from the Government and Public Health England.

The Government announced that all schools in England were to close for the vast majority of pupils from Friday 20 March at 4pm until further notice. A letter has been sent to Lancing parents communicating this, as well as more detailed information about remote teaching and learning. At present the school campus is therefore closed to most of our pupils and the Chapel to all visitors.

The physical dispersal of most pupils signals our move to a comprehensive schedule of remote teaching for all year groups.

In accordance with Government instruction, the school remains open to support key workers. We are also exploring ways to support the local community in care for key workers and the vulnerable.

Lancing College is a co-educational boarding and day school for 13 to 18 year olds. Our pupils come to Lancing from across the South East, from London and from around the world. They become part of a caring community with stretching horizons and ambitious goals. We build on pupils' strengths and ensure every child achieves their full potential.

In March 2017, ISI inspectors rated Lancing College as excellent for the quality of the pupils' academic and other achievements and excellent for the quality of the pupils' personal development.

This result is a testament to our staff at the College and to our amazing pupils. We are committed to building on this excellence in everything that we do.

We take our role in teaching, guiding and caring for our pupils very seriously; working in collaboration with parents, our staff and our pupils, we aspire to continually enhance the amazing experience of a Lancing education.

Our unique strength is in encouraging individual growth in our pupils, both emotionally and intellectually.
