Lancing College

Open Morning 5 May 2018

Snow Update Monday 19 March - 06.54am

In the light of some snowy weather this weekend,  please note the following:

If your child is a day pupil and travels by Lancing College transport/ daily bus route

All buses are running as usual this morning,
Please also make sure that your child is sufficiently dressed for the weather with warm attire and sensible shoes.

If your child is a day pupil and makes their own way to school
In getting your children to school, please make your own judgment regarding their safety and indeed your own safety if driving them. If you decide that your child should not travel to school please inform us as soon as you decide by contacting their Housemaster/ Housemistress (if before 8.15am) or Reception on 01273 452213 (if after 8.15am) so that we can know that they are safe and adjust our onsite register of pupils.

If you drive your child into the College every day please take extra care on your journey in and out of the site. Our estate team will do all they can to ensure that the College roadways are as safe as possible for road-users but extra attention will be required.

As a boarding school with a significant number of staff resident on site we will be ensuring that it is ‘business as usual’ as far as possible today. If you are concerned about your safety in coming to collect day pupils, we can also accommodate a number of day pupils overnight, and as ever your child’s Housemaster or Housemistress should be the port of call for enquiries.

Lancing College is a co-educational boarding and day school for 13 to 18 year olds. Our pupils come to Lancing from across the South East, from London and from around the world. They become part of a caring community with stretching horizons and ambitious goals. We build on pupils' strengths and ensure every child achieves their full potential.

In March 2017, ISI inspectors rated Lancing College as excellent for the quality of the pupils' academic and other achievements and excellent for the quality of the pupils' personal development.

This result is a testament to our staff at the College and to our amazing pupils. We are committed to building on this excellence in everything that we do.

We take our role in teaching, guiding and caring for our pupils very seriously; working in collaboration with parents, our staff and our pupils, we aspire to continually enhance the amazing experience of a Lancing education.

Our unique strength is in encouraging individual growth in our pupils, both emotionally and intellectually.
