The Appointment
We are seeking a Weekend Cleaner / Porter to support weekend bookings, private functions & conferences. The department covers a diverse range of support functions, including all aspects of housekeeping and cleaning. The cleaner will work within a team to upkeep both internal and external areas of the College.

Job Title: Weekend Cleaner / Porter
Responsible To: Facilities Manager
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- To clean designated areas that may change from time to time to include common rooms, corridors, stairs, toilets, kitchen, public areas and teaching rooms, conference and private function bookings.
- To prepare rooms as necessary for teaching, courses or meetings.
- To drive college vehicles around the campus.
- To move furniture and equipment as required, which may involve moderate heavy lifting.
- To move bagged general waste and recycling to collection point.
- To maintain cleaning equipment.
- To ensure areas are kept secure.
- To observe and comply with the college’s Health and Safety policy and Code of Practice.
- To observe COSHH regulations and the safe use of chemicals.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Ability to undertake moderately heavy manual handling.
- Experience of working in a customer service environment.
- Customer service oriented with polite, friendly communication skills and a “can do” attitude.
- Committed to providing a quality service right down to the small details.
- A team player who is proactive in seeking service improvements and flexible approach in meeting customer needs.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Manual Handling regulations.
- Hold a full, clean UK Driving Licence.
- Hold a First Aid qualification.

Terms & Conditions
- Salary is £13.08 per hour.
- Saturdays and Sundays 06.30 – to 12.30, working hours require a degree of flexibility on starting and finishing times. However, these times may vary slightly from time to time to suit the needs of the business and are dependent on confirmed bookings received, the employee will be required to work on occasions to assist with special events held at the College.
