Performing Arts

Lancing has a strong and rich heritage across the Performing Arts and counts many well-known names in its alumni.

Our Scholarship Programme is designed to encourage and support talented new pupils to join Lancing and to take advantage of the opportunities and dedicated support available. Music and Drama are available to study at A Level, and many Sixth Form pupils continue their love of these subjects to complement other academic study through co-curricular options and the termly House and School-wide performances. The school welcomes and actively encourages involvement from all pupils, from beginners to those pupils wanting to develop and hone their skills.

Every year, a number of pupils choose to take their enjoyment and expertise in the Performing Arts further. In recent times, pupils have gone on to study at The Royal Northern College of Music, Gloucester Cathedral or to specialise in Creative Writing, Drama and Theatre Studies.

We believe that it teaches confidence, collaboration, communication and co-operation. A great variety of Music, Drama and Dance is available to all students throughout the year groups.

Pupils lead active lives, with numerous opportunities to take part in a diverse range of in-house, sporting and co-curricular activities. The well-considered options provide a rich and interesting experience for day pupils and boarding pupils.
