It is a great pleasure to introduce you to all that our remarkable school has to offer. Perched high on the South Downs, the College looks out across both land and sea – an inspiring setting in which young people can discover themselves and their place in the wider world.
Lancing is a dynamic, creative and caring community. Education here is true to its root: educere – to draw out. We believe that within every child lies a quality, sometimes clear, sometimes hidden, that deserves to be discovered. Our task is to discern it, to cultivate it with care, and to give it the space to grow strong. Whether in the classroom, on the stage, on the sports field or in chapel, we nurture the talents and character of our pupils so that they can grow into the fullest expression of themselves.
Lancing pupils are encouraged to think deeply, to enquire boldly, and to embrace the breadth of opportunity that surrounds them. The result is an education that is rigorous and stretching, but also humane and joyful – one that develops the whole person.
This is a community founded on Christian values, where young people learn to live with purpose and integrity. When pupils leave Lancing, they do so as confident, compassionate young adults – equipped with both self-knowledge and the courage to contribute meaningfully to the world around them. Friendships formed here last a lifetime, as does the sense of belonging.

As Lancing’s new Head Master from September 2025, I was drawn to the College’s commitment to nurturing the talents of individuals within a community that values kindness, diversity, and curiosity. I am really thrilled to lead a school that embraces both tradition and modernity, enriched by outstanding pastoral care, ambitious teaching, and a rich co-curricular programme. I look forward to building on these successes in collaboration with the whole community, as the Lancing family of schools moves into an exciting next stage in its development.
