Lancing College Family of Schools Sponsors Brighton Half Marathon 2026

The Lancing College Family of Schools proudly returned as sponsor of the Brighton Half Marathon on 1 March 2026, celebrating another year of community spirit, teamwork and determination.

A vibrant team of runners represented the Lancing community, including pupils, staff and alumni from Lancing College — among them Head Master Dr Scott Crawford — as well as staff from Lancing Prep Hove, Dorset House School and Lancing Prep Worthing Head, Francesca Milling. Not even the challenging weather could dampen the enthusiasm and resilience shown by all who took part.

Equally inspiring was the commitment of Lancing’s pupil and staff volunteers. Positioned along the course at a dedicated water station, they handed out water and cheered runners ensuring they stayed hydrated and motivated throughout the race.

The Lancing College family presence extended into the event village, where members of the community welcomed visitors, offered homemade fudge and sweets, and shared information about the schools. Their warmth and engagement showcased the very best of the Lancing spirit.

Lancing College would like to congratulate alumni, Reuben Hoyte who came third in the Half Marathon race. What an achievement!

Lancing College Head Master, Dr Scott Crawford says

‘We were really pleased to support the Brighton Half Marathon for the second year in a row. A huge well done to all our runners and volunteers, especially given the challenging weather on the day. They showed real determination and team spirit from start to finish.

What made it even more memorable was the incredible support around them. Friends, families, volunteers and residents created such an encouraging atmosphere, and it genuinely lifted everyone taking part. It was a great reminder of what can happen when a community pulls together.

We’re proud to have stood alongside the Brighton Half Marathon and its partners, not only to celebrate the fantastic fundraising achievements, but also to be part of something that brought so many people together for such worthwhile causes.’
