A message from the Admissions Team
The Spring half term break is upon us, and the opening weeks of 2026 have been very busy indeed. The College community has come together for the Charities Term; a multitude of fund and awareness-raising activities in support of the ten charities chosen by the ten Lancing College Houses, from sleepouts in solidarity with charities for the homeless to the mayhem of Spy Ring (a sort of glorified game of Tag spanning a week) to bake sales to second hand book swaps, there has been something for everyone, and a real sense of communal endeavour.
This has also been the season for university offers, and our Upper Sixth have secured some exceptional offers of future places, in world-ranking Universities.
The sort of individual endeavour that builds towards this success was highlighted in an incredible concert performed by Isaac H and a dozen of his friends from across the student body to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.
This was not only a musical performance of breath-taking beauty but it brought together composition from the concentration camps; a film which explored the complex and conflicted role of music and the making of art in such settings and this was the culmination of this Lower Sixth pupil’s EPQ (Extended Project Qualification] research.
An extraordinary piece of scholarship and performance, it also reflects that independence of learning which sees some 50 students in the Lower Sixth this year embark upon highly individual and closely researched EPQs alongside the study of three (or four!) A Level subjects.
At the other end of the age spectrum, January saw us welcoming some 75 Year 6 students from 20 Prep and Primary Schools to take part in the Advance Programme Familiarisation and Assessment Day. It was a terrific day and we were delighted to host such lively, engaging and promising youngsters. With this cohort looking to join us in 2028, the future looks very sunny.
As Spring truly gets going, the Lancing Farm Project gears up for a season of lambing; daffodils line the drive and the College trees are in fresh leaf. With sporting, musical, academic and charitable successes established in the opening weeks of the year, the run up to Easter is full of the joys of Spring.
