Over 50s Lunch – October 2026
With over 70 guests in attendance, the newly named Over 50s Lunch got off to a wonderful start with Catherine Reeve, OL, Head of Legacies and former Foundation Director, as guest speaker. Catherine reflected warmly on her longstanding association with the College and the people, friendships and experiences that shaped her life.
Catherine first moved to Lancing in 1962, when her father, Robin Reeve, joined the Common Room. In 1976, she became a pupil and one of a small group of girls who helped usher in Lancing’s transition to co-education. She paid tribute to her tutor, Jeremy Tomlinson, former Head Master Ian Beer and her father, all of whom encouraged her in different ways to succeed at Lancing.
Following a highly successful career in food retail which culminated in founding her own product development consultancy, Catherine returned to Lancing in 2005. Over the next 20 years, she helped develop and nurture a thriving OL community and was a committed advocate for the College.
She was also instrumental in establishing the groundbreaking Foundationers bursary programme, which welcomed its 50th pupil during her tenure. Concluding her speech, Catherine expressed heartfelt gratitude for the enduring loyalty and affection from OLs for their old school and that it was wonderful to see the friendships and influences flourishing after so many years.
