Pupil Headliners – End of Summer Term July 2022
Lancing Short Story Competition
The Lancing Short Story prize is awarded to Jeremiah S for his ambitious story ‘Lovers of the Sun’, an ode to first love and a synaesthetic fantasia in four parts based on paintings by Henry Scott Tuke. Kayleb M‘s ‘Facades’ and Hannah C’s ‘In Defiance of Tradition’ are both highly commended.
Royal Society of Chemistry Schools Analyst Competition 2022
We are delighted to announce that the College’s winning team in the Royal Society of Chemistry Schools Analyst Competition 2022 were Omar M A, Aldo W, Thomas W and Nima Z.
Dr Turnbull from the Royal Society of Chemistry has asked that we pass on his warmest congratulations: the quality of all entries was exceptionally high, and all our teams should feel very proud of their achievements. In our region, the RSC Analytical Division South East Region, and the overall highest score came from a team at Oxford International College in Oxford.
Intermediate Kangaroo Maths Paper
We had 19 pupils sit the intermediate Maths Kangaroo paper a few weeks ago. This is a tough paper for those who came at the top of the Intermediate Mathematics challenge sat last term, and just to qualify is a considerable achievement. Well done to the following pupils: John S, Alexander M, Grace M, Hugo D, Ethan B, Archie K, Jiayu L and Harry Z.
