On Tuesday, 21 May, the College hosted the first of two Sports Days to celebrate Founder’s Day. From spectacular sporting prowess to hilarious inflatable antics, the day brought together the entire school community. This wonderful event highlighted the vibrant community spirit and outstanding athletic prowess that Lancing College is renowned for. Fourth Form Girls Shot Put: Strength and Precision

The Fourth Form Girls Shot Put event showcased the remarkable strength and precision of our young athletes. Ollie C, Manor House, emerged as the winner, demonstrating exceptional technique and power to claim first place. Sophia W, Sankey’s House, secured second place with her impressive throws, while Jo O’s, Field’s House, consistent performance earned her a well-deserved third place. 

 

Fourth Form Boys Shot Put: A Display of Power

In the Fourth Form Boys Shot Put, Cyrus D’s Teme House dominated the competition, taking first place with his powerful throws. Ron B, Gibbs’ House followed closely, securing second place with an impressive performance. Joe J, Gibbs’ House claimed third place, showcasing his potential and determination. 

 

Senior Girls Track 1500m: Endurance and Strategy

The Senior Girls Track 1500m race was a thrilling display of endurance and strategy. Lara N, Manor House, crossed the finish line first, her impeccable pacing and stamina evident throughout the race. Grace S, Sankey’s House, followed in second place, showcasing her tenacity and strong finish. Lily T, Handford House, secured third place, highlighting the depth of talent among Lancing College’s senior girls.

 

Senior Boys Track 1500m: Speed and Determination

The Senior Boys Track 1500m race was marked by speed and fierce competition. Theo S-F, Saints’ House, claimed victory with a commanding performance, his swift pace and determination setting him apart. Max W, Second’s House, finished in a strong second place, demonstrating remarkable resilience and effort. Alessio M’s Head’s House third-place finish underscored his competitive spirit and hard work. The race was one of the highlights of the day, showcasing the athletic excellence at Lancing College.

 

Junior Girls Track 1500m: Rising Stars

The Junior Girls Track 1500m race highlighted the promising young talent at Lancing College. Bibi W, Handford House, took first place with an outstanding run; her potential as a future star is evident! Grace H, Manor House, secured second place, showing impressive skill and determination. Marina C-R, Field’s House, finished in third place, her strong performance rounding out the podium.

 

Junior Boys Track 1500m: Future Champions

In the Junior Boys Track 1500m, Luca C, Head’s House, emerged victorious, his remarkable pace and endurance earning him first place. Jack R, Saints’ House, followed closely, securing second place with a determined effort. Will N’s, Gibbs’ House, third-place finish highlighted his potential and commitment. The Junior Boys’ race was a fitting conclusion to a day of exceptional athletic performances.

 


A Day of Celebration and Achievement

The first of the Founder’s Day sporting events at Lancing College was a resounding success, filled with thrilling competitions, wonderful sporting performances, and a strong sense of community. The dedication and hard work of all participants were evident, making the day not only a celebration of sporting excellence but also a testament to the vibrant and supportive spirit of Lancing College.
