Welcome to New Staff
A warm welcome to our new staff who joined the College this September:
Tom Atkinson joins us as new Housemaster in Teme House. Tom joins Lancing from Bishop’s Stortford College in Hertfordshire where he taught History for over 10 years. He was Resident Tutor in one of the boarding houses before taking the reins as Housemaster of a day house; a position he has held for over eight years.
Tom has moved to Lancing with his wife Helen and their two children Harry (6) and Emily (3). They are delighted at the prospect of living closer to the sea and enjoying time and holidays on the south coast.
Lewis Benson joins Lancing as the new Head of Football. A former player at Salisbury FC, Lewis headed coaching at Sparsholt College Football Academy, building links with Southampton and Bournemouth FCs, and has over 10 years football coaching experience.
Emma Staddon, Teacher of Psychology
Emma started her teaching career at Reigate College in Sept 2002, where she worked for 11 years. Since then, she has taught Psychology A Level at a variety of educational establishments.
Emma is a tutor in Saints’ House. Outside of Lancing, she works as a life coach, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and Havening practitioner. Over the past 15 years she has run a variety of personal development courses. These have included courses on positive psychology, confidence building, the psychology of relationships and emotional eating. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and badminton.
Dom Loe, Teacher of Maths
Dom completed his BSc in Mathematics at Sussex University, followed by his PGCE (also at Sussex) in 2021. He joins us as a newly qualified teacher and a Tutor in Gibbs’ House. Dom runs the College’s revamped Chess Club, assists with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme, and is football coach for the U15Cs.
In his spare time, Dom enjoys playing badminton, watching films, and playing computer games. Prior to teaching, he worked as a maths tutor whilst at college and university.
