At Lancing Prep Hove, we’re proud to welcome a new generation of pupils to our school each year. We know that choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions you’ll make for your child – and we also understand that every family’s journey is different.
Our website offers a great introduction to life at Lancing Prep Hove, but nothing compares to experiencing it in person. We warmly invite you to visit us, meet our team, and see our school in action. It’s the best way to discover what makes our community so special – and how we nurture every child to thrive as a confident, curious and kind individual.
Every personal visit includes a meeting with our Head, Kirsty Keep, followed by a tour of the school during a normal day. You’ll have the chance to speak with our admissions Manager, Sarah Olsen, meet some of our wonderful teachers, and hear from the real stars of the show – our pupils!
This visit marks the beginning of our admissions process. If you decide to take the next step, we’ll invite you to complete a registration form and pay a non-refundable registration fee. From there, we’ll arrange a taster day for your child to join their current year group. This gives both your family and our team a chance to ensure Lancing Prep Hove is the right fit. For children joining from Year 1 upwards, we’ll also request a reference from their current school. Once the taster day and reference are complete, we’ll be in touch with a formal offer. Sarah will then confirm your child’s place once we’ve received the acceptance form and entry deposit.
Pre-School
Our Pre-School welcomes children from the age of 3 into a nurturing and engaging environment. We work closely with parents to help children settle into our beautiful setting, offering a range of attendance options and 15 hours of funded childcare per week. While we don’t have facilities for afternoon naps, we do ask that children are dry before starting. Once your child joins our Pre-School, they’ll progress naturally into Reception without needing to reapply. For more details, please contact Sarah Olsen.
Reception
Reception is our main entry point into Pre-Prep, whether children are moving up from our Pre-School or joining us from elsewhere. We take great care to ensure this first step into school life is a happy and seamless one for both children and parents.
Year 3
Year 3 marks the beginning of our Prep School journey. Many families choose this point to join us, especially after completing Key Stage 1 elsewhere. Early applications are recommended, as places are limited and in high demand.
Year 7
We welcome new pupils into Year 7 each year, often from local primary and prep schools. It’s a fantastic route into independent education, especially for those considering Lancing College or other senior schools at 13+. Applications for 2026 entry should be submitted by Monday 3 November 2025. Late applications may be considered, subject to availability.
Other
Occasionally, places become available in other year groups. We’re always happy to explore options with families, and children can join us at any point during the school year. Whenever they arrive, we take great care to help them settle in quickly and feel part of our community from day one.
