ISI Inspections

In November 2025, Lancing Prep Hove welcomed inspectors from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), the organisation appointed by the Department for Education (DfE) to oversee independent schools in England. These inspections take place roughly every three years and ensure schools meet the Independent School Standards.

The inspection was carried out under the ISI’s Framework 23, introduced in September 2023. This framework moves away from single-word judgements and instead focuses on the pupil experience across four key areas:

  1. Leadership and Management
  2. Quality of Education
  3. Pupils’ Physical, Mental and Emotional Wellbeing
  4. Pupils’ Social and Economic Education and Contribution to Society

Over four days, inspectors observed lessons, spoke with pupils and staff and met members of our Governing Body. Parents, pupils and staff were invited to share their views through questionnaires, which were carefully considered as part of the process.

We are delighted that the report highlights the strengths of our school community and the exceptional care and education we provide. Lancing Prep Hove was confirmed to meet all regulatory standards and is fully compliant in every area. As with all ISI reports, recommendations for future development were included, and we look forward to building on these as part of our commitment to continuous improvement.

This outcome reflects the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our pupils, and the unwavering support of our parents. Together, we ensure that Lancing Prep Hove remains a place where every child can flourish.
