Hockey
U14B v Charterhouse U15B
The U14B team took on a strong Charterhouse U15B side at home over the weekend. Despite facing older opponents, Lancing delivered an impressive performance, narrowly missing out in a hard-fought 2-1 defeat. There were plenty of positives to carry into the Half Term break. Dylan B found the net for Lancing, with Oshiogwe V-U and Dylan B our MVPs.
U15B v Lord Wandsworth
The U15B team travelled to Lord Wandsworth on Saturday for a closely contested match that ended in a dramatic 1-1 draw. Gianmarco S put Lancing ahead with a well-taken goal, but the hosts managed to equalise with the final play of the game. Harry S was named MVP for his standout performance.
U15A v Lord Wandsworth
Lancing’s U15A team put on a dominant display away at Lord Wandsworth, securing a commanding 3-0 victory. Jude G led the charge with two goals, while Thomas R, who was also named MVP, capped off the win with a well-earned third.
2nd XI v Charterhouse
The 2nd XI hosted Charterhouse on Saturday in a fast-paced, end-to-end encounter. A late goal from the visitors saw Lancing fall to a narrow 1-0 defeat, but there was much to admire in the team’s effort. Special recognition goes to the Junior players who stepped up for their first senior appearance. Francis R was named MVP for his impressive display.
Football
It was a tough week as both the U14 boys and 1st XI girls exited their National Cup quarterfinals. The U14s should be proud of their strong cup run, while the 1st XI girls fought hard but lost 2-1 despite a strong performance in just their second match of the season. On Saturday, the 1st XI fell 1-0, but the 2nd XI impressed with a 6-0 win over Kent College. The Senior footballers ended the week on a high, defeating Hurst 8-1 and Christ’s Hospital 3-0.
