A Level Results 2026
This year represents another excellent set of results, with pupils performing strongly across the range of subjects and securing places at some of the best universities.
In unstable times for the independent sector, this year’s candidates underscore the benefits of a Lancing College education. The strength of A* and A grades achieved by this cohort demonstrates Lancing’s appeal to pupils aspiring to the very highest grades – and shows that we enable them to achieve their goals.
Highlights:
- 26% A* grades (up from 24% in 2025)
- 54% A*/A grades (up from 53% in 2025)
- An incredible 33 pupils achieved a clean sweep of A and A* grades at A Level or equivalent (up from 26 in 2025)
A Level statistics are just that – numbers. What underlies them is an incredible record of human success, with students going on to the best courses and employment opportunities in the UK and overseas, while becoming rounded, impressive, independent-thinking human beings, shaped by Lancing’s rigorous academic curriculum and outstanding co-curricular programme. The human stories from individuals below tell the real story of success.
Among the most notable departments in this year’s results:

- Business achieved a staggering 94% A*-A grade equivalent in the BTEC qualification with the Sport extended two A Level equivalent programme surpassing even this with 100% A*-A grade equivalence.

Our Head Master, Dr Scott Crawford commented:
This cohort has much of which to be proud. Their achievements are the product of sustained commitment, intellectual curiosity and a willingness to embrace the many opportunities available to them at Lancing. While the examination results are excellent, they represent something far more important: the development of young people who are thoughtful, resilient and ready to make their mark on the world.
It has been a pleasure to see this year group flourish, supported by dedicated teachers and families who have played such an important part in their success. As they move on to universities, conservatoires, professional training and other exciting opportunities both in the UK and overseas, they do so carrying the confidence, ambition and sense of purpose that have characterised their time here.
On behalf of the entire College community, I congratulate them warmly and wish them every success in the next chapter of their lives. As OLs they join a remarkable community whose connections span generations and continents, and we shall watch their future achievements with great interest, affection and pride.
