Lancing Celebrates Outstanding Destinations for the Class of 2026

The Class of 2026 has secured one of Lancing’s strongest and most diverse sets of university destinations in recent years, with students progressing to an impressive range of highly selective universities and prestigious degree programmes. While many pupils secured outstanding international destinations, this year’s UK outcomes alone reflect the breadth of talent, ambition and academic achievement within the cohort. 

Approximately 72% of students with confirmed destinations progressed to Russell Group universities, while almost a quarter secured places at institutions consistently ranked among the UK’s most prestigious universities, including Oxford, Imperial College London, the London School of Economics, University College London, King’s College London, Durham, Warwick, Bath and Edinburgh. 

Exceptional Success at the UK’s Leading Universities 

Among this year’s most notable achievements are confirmed places at: .   

• University of Oxford for Classics and English. 

• Imperial College London for Aeronautical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Design Engineering and Earth & Planetary Science.   

• London School of Economics for International Relations and International Relations & History. 

• UCL for Architecture, Geography, Economics with Business and Eastern European Studies, History, Politics and Economics, and History and Politics of the Americas.   

The cohort’s success at Oxford, Imperial, LSE and UCL demonstrates Lancing’s ability to prepare pupils for some of the most competitive admissions processes in the world. 

Outstanding Performance in STEM Subjects 

Engineering, technology and the physical sciences represent one of the strongest areas of achievement across the cohort. 

Students secured places in: 

• Aeronautical Engineering and Design Engineering at Imperial College London 

• Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London and Edinburgh 

• Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Manchester 

• Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at Nottingham 

• Mechanical Engineering at Warwick and Exeter 

• Mathematics and Physics at Durham 

• Physics at Manchester 

• Earth & Planetary Science at Imperial College London 

Computing and artificial intelligence also continue to grow in popularity, with destinations including: 

• Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence at Bristol and Nottingham 

• Data Science and Economics at Manchester 

These destinations reflect the increasing interest among Lancing pupils in future-focused disciplines at the forefront of technological innovation.  

Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and Health Sciences 

Students achieved notable success in some of the UK’s most competitive professional pathways. 

Medical destinations include: 

• King’s College London for Medicine 

• Queen’s University Belfast for Medicine 

Veterinary and animal science destinations include: 

• Veterinary Medicine at the University of Surrey 

• Bioveterinary Science at the Royal Veterinary College 

The cohort also secured places in Physiotherapy, Psychology, Biomedical Sciences, Biomedicine, Biology and Zoology, demonstrating exceptional strength across the wider health and life sciences sector.    

Strength in Business, Economics and Finance 

Business-related courses remain the single most popular area of study, accounting for approximately 24% of destinations.   

Students secured places on highly regarded programmes in: 

• Economics at Bath and Manchester 

• Finance at Durham and Loughborough 

• Finance with Actuarial Science at City St George’s 

• Business and Management at Exeter, Edinburgh, Durham and Newcastle 

• International Business at Edinburgh and Loughborough 

• Business Analytics at Exeter 

• Real Estate Finance at the University of Monaco   

Humanities, Law and International Affairs 

Approximately 20% of destinations fall within humanities and social sciences disciplines. 

Students secured places to study: 

• History at Durham, Leeds and Warwick 

• English Literature at Durham and Manchester 

• International Relations at LSE, Exeter and Nottingham 

• History, Politics and Economics at UCL 

• International History and Politics at Leeds 

• Politics and International Relations at Bath 

• Natural Sciences at King’s College London 

The law cohort was particularly strong, with students securing places at Warwick, Exeter, Surrey and Exeter’s highly regarded Professional Placement Law programme. 

Creative, Design and Specialist Destinations 

The diversity of destinations remains one of the most striking characteristics of the cohort. 

Students secured places for:

• Design Engineering at Imperial College London 

• Product Design Engineering at Loughborough 

• Fashion Product Innovation at Manchester 

• Fine Art at UAL and Kingston 

• Digital Arts for Animation, Games and Immersion 

• Music with Innovation at Bristol 

• Professional Music Production at Falmouth 

• Film Practices at Newcastle 

• Commercial Dance at City St George’s 

• Motorsport Technology at Oxford Brookes 

These outcomes demonstrate that Lancing pupils continue to excel across both traditional academic disciplines and highly specialised creative and professional fields.

Strong numbers also progressed to Imperial College London, King’s College London, Bath and Loughborough University.    

International success:  

Lancing has had an incredible year of applications beyond the highly desirable UK market as well. US applications are booking with students winning coveted places at world leading institutions like the Julliard School for Music and the Dramatic Arts and Parsons School of Visual Arts in New York City as well as a wide range of other places including University of California schools, Penn State and Northeastern University. In Canada, students have won places at University of British Columbia, University of Toronto and McGill. As well as places in Australasia and Asia, Europe remains a big draw for Lancing Students with leavers going on to: Groningen in Holland; IE University and the EU Business School in Spain; Polimoda in Florence and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan; the Norwegian Business School in Oslo; St, Gallen University in Switzerland; and the International University of Monaco among others.
