Admissions’ Welcome – September 2025
Dear Parent/Guardian,
I hope your child was happy to return to school after the summer break and that some sort of normality has returned to your home as new school routines embed and memories of the summer fade. Autumn has come as something of a shock this year after such a long hot summer!
We start this academic year with the largest number of pupils ever on roll; under the leadership of Dr Scott Crawford, who joined us from Magdalene College School, Oxford this term. Please do watch his film to learn more about his vision. We are excited about the future as he builds on the school’s many successes and leads us forward with strength.
There is so much to celebrate here. Our superb GCSE and A Level results for last year’s Fifth and Upper Sixth Form were a result of hard work from our pupils supported by their committed and talented teachers, and we were very happy to be recognised in a host of national awards, including winning the Best of the Best in The Week for our Extra-Curricular provision! It is rewarding to know that the excellence that we know to be the case is reflected in this way.
It is such an exciting time at Lancing and joining this school community lays the foundations for a happy and successful education and deep personal fulfilment. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us, and if you would like to visit or re-visit us, you are of course, always welcome. Contact us at admissions@lancing.org.uk to join one of our open events or to arrange a personal visit.
The school is in excellent heart; our first week of term saw a whole-school charitable fundraising event in the 12-mile walk for Malawi across the South Downs (with 1000 pupils, staff and parents participating); our first Open Morning of the year and the Installation of Dr Scott Crawford and the commissioning of the Prefects in our magnificent chapel. Rehearsals for our Musical production in November are gearing up and there are fixtures in abundance in our school calendar! There is a real spring in our step and the year ahead promises to be an exciting one. We very much hope to be able to welcome your child/children to Lancing in the future.
With best wishes,
Mrs Hilary Dugdale, Director of Admissions
