Annual Malawi Walk Raises Vital Funds and Awareness
A huge thank you to the pupils, staff, families and friends of Lancing College who took part in our annual Malawi Walk last weekend.
The sponsored 12-mile walk across the South Downs, traditionally held on the first Saturday of the new academic year, raises vital funds to support our longstanding partnership with communities in Malawi. Donations help provide educational resources, accommodation and tuition for young people in need through our charity partners, Care in Action and Open Arms Malawi.
Since our first visit in the early 1980s, Lancing College has worked alongside schools and communities in Malawi, helping to create opportunities for young people through education, fundraising and practical support. Over the years, 21 biennial expeditions have taken Lancing pupils to Malawi, with the most recent visit taking place this summer.
Thank you to everyone who walked, donated and volunteered, including the Lancing Parents Association, whose much-appreciated refreshments provided a welcome boost at the finish line.
