Lancing College is seeking an exceptional individual to succeed Martin Slumbers as Chair of the Board of Governors. Martin has served with distinction since 2008, and as Chair since 2019. His leadership has been marked by dedication, wisdom, and a deep commitment to the transformative power of education. As he reflected in his recent letter:
“I never expected to serve for so long but have found my time as a governor to have been very fulfilling despite the challenges during this period. I have often said that the greatest gift one generation gives the next is education and it has been a time of extreme pride to have played a small part in Lancing and the education of so many pupils.”
In extending his tenure to help ensure a smooth transition to Dr Scott Crawford as Head Master this September, Martin demonstrates the stewardship and continuity central to Lancing’s governance.
