Sporting Highlights – Friday 11 February 2022
We start by congratulating Grace S who competed in the Chichester 10K last Sunday, winning the U17 age group in a time of 45:49. Lara N also competed in the Chichester 5K race. Well done to both runners.
Further congratulations to Izzy H who has been selected to represent Sussex in the U18 County Cup.
The Hockey Club played against Ardingly last Saturday. The 1st team battled well, particularly in the first half and nearly scored in the first few seconds. But as the game went on, tiredness resulted in defensive errors, and they finally lost 5-2. Mr Carter’s Team of the Week goes to the 3rd XI who played Christ’s Hospital and won 8-0, with Bradley H scoring a double hat-trick. An excellent performance.
Last Saturday our netballers played in a triangular against Eastbourne and Christ’s Hospital. Highlights came from the U14 age group with the As defeating Eastbourne and the Bs defeating Christ’s Hospital. The 14Cs were really close against Eastbourne, but just missed out by two goals.
On Thursday the seniors played Bede’s, and notched up two convincing wins for the 2nd VII and U16A team. The 1st VII had a very physical game and progress was made in the third and fourth quarter, but they couldn’t bridge the gap from the damage done in the first half.
